Instep Kick and Push Kick Comparison of Knee Joint Angles and Moments

Colected and compared 3D motion tracking data using reflective markers and force plates to investigate deviations of the planting foot's knee joint angles and moments between push kick (pass) and instep kick (shot).

Designed an experiment to acquire kinematic data from reflective markers to determine the kinetics of the knee joint in 3 dimensions of rotation of the knee: Internal Rotation, Abduction and Extension.

Researched common marker placement methods for tracking knee joint movement in soccer players as well as kinetic techniques required for calculation of moments.

Utilized matlab to import the column seperated values (.csv) output from the Human Mobility Lab (Hotel Dieu Hospital, Kingston, Ontario, Canada) and calculate knee joint angles and moments of the planting foot with respect to time.

Utilized Excel's graphing capabilities to display data by exporting results from Matlab.
